Selection of medleys from all the great musicals!

About this event

Conductor: Paul Burke Accompanist: Sebastian Thomson Soloist: Bethany Woolgrove

Following the success of recent (non-Covid) summers, Wantage Choral Society is once again delighted to hold its Summer Concert in Letcombe Regis Village Hall. We will be featuring songs and medleys from shows and films including Mamma Mia, Les Misérables, James Bond movies and Rodgers and Hammerstein. The ticket price includes a glass of wine and interval refreshments. Come along – it will be a great evening!

Wantage Choral Society is mixed-voice non-audition choir of around 60 singers drawn from Wantage and the surrounding area. In recent years our autumn and spring concerts have included St Matthew Passion, The Dream of Gerontius, Chilcott’s Christmas Oratorio and Beethoven’s Mass in C, whilst the summer concerts have tended to feature extracts from musicals, film and opera.

We rehearse on Tuesdays during school terms at 19.30 in the Wantage Church of England Primary School and generally perform in Wantage Parish Church.

We are always keen to welcome new members – Sopranos, Altos, Tenors and Basses. There are no auditions, just come along and give it a go. If you can read music that’s great, but if you can’t, don’t worry. We’re a cheerful and supportive bunch of people and you’ll be made to feel at home straightaway. We all sing because we love it, and we’re sure you will as well.

To find out more, email the Chairman, Robin Dunford, at wantagechoralsociety@gmail.com

Alternatively, just come along to a rehearsal! Rehearsals for the Christmas Term start on Tuesday 6 September.
