About this event
What better way to spend a Sunday evening than resting and resetting with beautiful sounds and vibrations! Wind down from your weekend and enter the new week feeling refreshed and nourished in your mind, body and spirit.
What is Sound Healing?
Sound Healing is a powerful therapy that combines different sounds, music, and sound healing instruments to improve our well-being by creating a beautiful experience where all layers of our energy field (body, mind, soul, spirit) are awakened gently and lovingly. Instruments are played softly and intentionally, promoting relaxation and a sense of inner calm.
Some benefits of Sound Baths can include
- Calming of your body and mind
- Reduced levels of stress and anxiety
- Increased focus and clarity
- Decreased tension and fatigue
- Boost to your mood
- Improved sleep
- Elevated feelings of overallwell-being
- Parasympathetic nervous system activation
- Deep rest
What happens in a sound bath?
You will be invited to lie down on the floor with cushions and blankets for support and warmth. Tara will then guide you through the entire session, from breath connection, through to a beautiful heart-based meditation and finally with your sound journey, helping you to deeply relax and connect with your inner self. No prior experience is necessary - simply bring yourself, some comfortable items (see below) and an open mind and heart!
Getting ready
Cardiff yoga studio has yoga mats, bolsters and some blankets, but you may also want to bring:
- warm comfortable clothing (pj's, socks, hot water bottle, anything to keep you cosy throughout!)
- extra yoga mat or something soft to lie on (blow up mattresses welcome!)
- cushions/pillows for you head
- blankets for extra cosiness and warmth

If you have access needs or find the floor uncomfortable, you are more than welcome to sit in a chair or in meditation position at any time.

About the facilitator
Tara is an experienced professional musician, music teacher, vocal coach and sound therapist who qualified at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and with the International Sound Healing Academy. She has been performing and teaching music for over 20 years and sharing sound baths in and around Bristol and Wales for the past three years.
Tara has used music to create meaningful connections for most of her life through performing and teaching music in various environments including bands, special schools, care homes and in community settings. The move to specifically study the healing power of sound was a natural step to deepen her understanding of how music and sounds can positively alter ones physical, emotional and spiritual state through deep listening, intention setting and energetic interaction with specific instruments.
Tara uses a mix of both ancient and modern sound healing instruments including Tibetan singing bowls, Crystal bowls, gongs, Koshi chimes, drums and her soothing voice to create the perfect environment for relaxation, rejuvenation and healing.
