About this event

What better way to spend a Sunday evening than resting and resetting with beautiful sounds and vibrations! Wind down from your weekend and enter the new week feeling refreshed and nourished in your mind, body and spirit.

What is Sound Healing?
Sound healing is a therapeutic practice that uses instruments such as crystal bowls, gongs, chimes, and the voice to create vibrations that promote deep relaxation and balance. These vibrations help calm the nervous system, release tension in the body, and quiet the mind, creating space for rest and renewal.

Some Benefits of Sound Healing:

  • Encourages deep relaxation and stress relief
  • Supports mental clarity and focus
  • Helps release stored tension and emotions
  • Promotes better sleep and restfulness
  • Restores a sense of harmony and inner balance

What to Expect During a Sound Bath
During a sound bath, you’ll be invited to lie down or sit comfortably, close your eyes, and simply receive. Using instruments such as crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and voice, I create layers of sound and vibration that gently guide your body and mind into a state of deep relaxation.

There is nothing you need to do — no effort, no right or wrong way to experience it. Some people feel waves of calm, others notice emotions or imagery arise, and many simply drift into a restful, meditative state. Each experience is unique, but most leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more balanced.

Getting ready

Cardiff yoga studio has yoga mats, bolsters and some blankets, but you may also want to bring:

  • warm comfortable clothing (pj's, socks, hot water bottle, anything to keep you cosy throughout!)
  • extra yoga mat or something soft to lie on (blow up mattresses welcome!)
  • cushions/pillows for you head
  • blankets for extra cosiness and warmth
  • water bottle

If you have access needs or find the floor uncomfortable, you are more than welcome to sit in a chair or in meditation position at any time.

The Venue

There is free parking around the venue on a Sunday. Parking may be a little tricky so do leave enough time to park if travelling by car. Closest station is Cardiff Queen Street which is about a 12 minute walk.

About the facilitator

Tara is an experienced professional musician, music teacher, vocal coach and sound therapist who qualified at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and with the International Sound Healing Academy. She has been performing and teaching music for over 20 years and sharing sound baths in and around Bristol and Wales for the past three years.

Tara has used music to create meaningful connections for most of her life through performing and teaching music in various environments including bands, special schools, care homes and in community settings. The move to specifically study the healing power of sound was a natural step to deepen her understanding of how music and sounds can positively alter ones physical, emotional and spiritual state through deep listening, intention setting and energetic interaction with specific instruments.
