Sophie Alloway Quartet feat. Mornington Lockett, Joe Thompson and Laurence Cottle!

Sophie Alloway takes a break from backing London’s leading jazz musicians to step out front and thrill us with her favourite composers of choice, including Chick Corea, Pat Metheny and Herbie Hancock!

Joining her for the night are three of Sophie’s closest musical collaborators:

SaxophonistMornington Locketthas played with Jimmy Smith, Arturo Sandoval, and was Ronnie Scott’s right-hand man.

PianistJoe Thompsonworks mostly in London’s West End venues, playing with the likes of Nigel Hitchcock, Mark Nightingale and Nigel Price; and his film work includes coaching Anne Hathaway and Taron Egerton.

BassistLaurence Cottleis best known for his lyrical jazz fusion bass playing but his rich CV includes Black Sabbath, Eric Clapton and Van Morrison, as well as Tim Garland, Django Bates and Claire Martin.

Sophie Alloway is in demand on the London jazz scene, where she has played with the likes of Jason Rebello, Guthrie Govan, Tony Kofi, and Lydian Collective. She also enjoys recording and TV work, including Later with Jools Holland, Glastonbury and BBC Young Jazz Musician 2024 (backing all the finalists on BBC TV and radio).
