Sophie will give a really insightful talk into her world of writing psychological thrillers. There will be be a question and answer session.

Sophie Draper's first book, Cuckoo, reached no 1 on the Bookseller's Heatseekers list and won the Bath Novel Award and York Festival of Writing Friday Night Live Award, 2017. Her new book, Magpie comes out Nov 28th later this year. Both books are psychological thrillers set in Derbyshire. Sophie also works as a traditional oral storyteller, performing folk stories and songs for historic houses, museums, community groups and schools.

In Cuckoo, Caro, an illustrator, returns to her childhood home and is haunted by disturbing memories that echo the dark tales of her latest commission. Obsessed with one story in particular, she gradually uncovers family secrets, village hatred and a guilt too much to bear.

Cuckoo,
was a Fern Britton Pick and won the Bath Novel Award 2017 and the Friday Night Live award at the York Festival of Writing 2017.
