SOS_19 Summer Programme - Ed Fornieles
Event Information
Description
Hailed as a ‘post-internet’ artist, Ed Fornieles treats Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler and Instagram as raw materials used for a singular purpose – to disrupt the world of the internet, a world in which today most feel comfortable in.
Ed creates work that takes inspiration from all corners of 21st century culture, from popular movies and television characters to social media platforms. Using various reoccurring digital archetypes, he investigates the concepts of family, friendship, relationship, physical interaction and language.
As part of the School of Speculation Summer Programme we are delighted to welcome Ed to the gallery on Thursday 1 August to talk about his latest work.
Ed has exhibited internationally, including Carl Kostyal, Stockholm; New Museum, New York and Serpentine Gallery, London.
Doors will open at 7pm, the talk will start at 7:30pm. This event is open to everyone.
