We look forward to meeting with our members to discuss this book, and hear about the reflections, learning, development, or anything you didn't quite agree with, that was prompted by this book.

The meeting will take place via Zoom on Tuesday 7th October 2025. Details on how to access the meeting will be shared the week prior to the meeting.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I find this book?

You should be able to find this book (or request it) at your local or educational establishment library, or find it to purchase online and in stores. Second hand copies can be found on popular secondhand marketplaces. E-reader and audio versions are available too.

What do you I to do to prepare?

Simply grab a copy of the book and read it. Note down any points or pages that resonate with you and that you might want to bring to the group discussion. Prior to the meeting, you will be emailed some reflection questions too that might help with your thoughts and discussion.

Who is the book club for?

The SOSCN Professional Development Book Club is for members of the Scottish Out of School Care Network that work in the school age childcare sector. Whether you are a volunteer, support worker, practitioner or manager, workers from all levels are welcome.

How do I access the meeting?

The meeting will take place over Zoom. About a week before the meeting, we will send you a link with details on how to access the meeting.

What happens at the meeting?

We'll facilitate a discussion of the book. Everyone is encouraged to share their thoughts and opinions, but you are also welcome to just listen. The whole point of the book club is to learn, encourage reflection, consider different ways of thinking and practice, and network with colleagues.
