What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga nidra, also known as ‘yogic sleep’, is a simplified form of an ancient tantric relaxation technique. The most general description of the practice is that it combines guided mental imagery with a specific yoga posture called Shavasana (or “corpse pose”) where you lay on your back resting.

Do I need to prepare or bring anything?

A mat is provided but bring with you a pillow and blankets or duvet for your comfort plus an open mind and willing heart. An eye mask or scarf would help too and it’s best to wear comfy layers of clothing and there’s no movement involved.

Are there any medical contraindications?

Yoga Nidra and Sound Baths have both been scientifically proven to be beneficial and relaxing yet can trigger deep emotional releases, which can be therapeutic but may also be uncomfortable or unsettling. Seek medical advice if you are pregnant, epileptic or have a heart condition.
