About this event
Amidst the ongoing heartbreak we are collectively witnessing, join us for a restorative sound bath in one of Peckham's most beautiful spaces.
Immerse yourself in gentle, resonant sounds designed to calm the mind and promote inner peace – uniting in healing and raising vital funds for Medical Aid Palestine.
Medical Aid Palestine's vision is a future where all Palestinians can access an effective, sustainable and locally-led system of healthcare, and the full realisation of their rights to health and dignity. In times of humanitarian emergency, they respond rapidly with aid and assistance - read more about their work here.

What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a deeply relaxing and immersive experience where you are "bathed" in sound waves. A meditative session where various instruments, like crystal singing bowls, gongs, or chimes, are played to create resonant vibrations and pure tones. As you lie comfortably, these sounds wash over you. You don't need to do anything - simply be.
What should I bring with me?
- A mat to lay on (seating is available where laying for an hour isn't accesible)
- Anything that will help you feel comfortable whilst lying on the floor during the session. This includes a pillow/s for your head (maybe legs too), a blanket and or an eye-mask.
- Warm clothes as we will be heading towards winter
- Water
Are sound baths safe for everyone?
While sound baths are generally very safe and beneficial for most people, there are a few situations where caution is advised or where it might not be suitable:
- Pregnancy: Especially in the first trimester, some practitioners advise caution due to the strong vibrations. If you are pregnant, please consult with your doctor before attending and inform the facilitator beforehand.
- Epilepsy/Seizure Disorders: The rhythmic or strong vibrations could potentially trigger seizures in some individuals. If you have a history of epilepsy or seizure disorders, please consult your doctor before attending.
- Pacemakers/Defibrillators/Metal Implants: While generally considered safe, some individuals with pacemakers, defibrillators, or extensive metal implants (like joint replacements) may feel uncomfortable with strong vibrations. It's advisable to consult your doctor and inform the facilitator if you have such implants.
- Serious Mental Health Conditions: For individuals with severe anxiety, PTSD, or other serious mental health conditions, deep relaxation can sometimes bring suppressed emotions to the surface. While this can be therapeutic, it's important to be aware and have appropriate support if needed. If you are undergoing treatment for a serious mental health condition, please consult your therapist or doctor.
- Recent Surgery or Physical Injury: If you've had recent surgery or have a significant physical injury, lying still for an extended period or experiencing vibrations might be uncomfortable. Please listen to your body and consult your doctor if unsure.
- Hearing Impairments/Sensitivity: While the sounds are generally not overly loud, individuals with extreme sound sensitivity or certain hearing conditions might find some frequencies uncomfortable.
If you have any concerns about your health or specific conditions, we strongly recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before participating.
