About this event

A "Sound bath" is an immersive meditative sound experience. It's good for the mind and it's good for the soul. It promotes positive mental health and can raise your vibration. I try to take you on a journey of self-discovery, you may see colours, you may have an emotional release, you may even meet people and beings on your journey. Your journey is personal to you; to be kept for oneself or to be shared, the choice is up to you.

The sound bath lasts approximately an hour , but I've allocated an hour and a quarter so as not to be rushed.

There are contraindications that come with every type of healing, please read all the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). If you are unsure if you can attend, please consult your doctor. My list of contraindications does not preclude anyone from not attending.

Don't forget if you are wanting to attend, you'll need to bring a Yoga Mat or comfortable chair, a blanket and a pillow. I cannot provide these otherwise I wouldn't have any room for my instruments.

Frequently asked questions

What time are the performances ?

Setting up between 12:00 and 12:45, First performance at 12:45 to 14:00 (1 hour 15 mins). 20 minute break. Second performance 14:20 to 15:35 (1 hour 15 mins. Take down and leave by 16:00. Parking locally isn't a problem, there are several small car parks in the area.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

It is recommended that you bring a yoga mat to lie on, you feel uncomfortable on the hard floor even though it's carpeted, you may wish to bring a comfortable chair, this is perfectly acceptable. A blanket is advisable as lying still can get quite cold and a pillow to rest your head on.

How many performances will there be?

There will be two performances throughout the day, 12:45 and 14:20. They are not straight one after another, It gives me time to recharge my own energies, have a coffee, toilet breaks etc.

How much of the money goes to yourself?

The event cost have to be paid up front, these go directly to the Abbey, Whatever is left over goes to the company to be reinvested back into musical instruments to enhance the performance.

What other events do you do?

As a "Sound Healer" its all about providing a service to others. We have a few other venues that I do on a regular basis. Loubie's Café in Scunthorpe, A Spiritualist group in York, three local community centre's close to where I live Ackworth, Newmillerdam and Badsworth, I also run drumming circles

Where can I find out more about Sound-Healing-Adventure

Mainly on Facebook, I do have an Instagram account but not used that much and a website (www.soundhealingadventure.co.uk), again this needs up dating. There will be information available at the event.

Will you be collecting personal data?

At the event I will ask for name and email address and mobile number. It's only to keep you up to date with any future events through WhatsApp. I've done it before, its a good marketing tool. If you don't want to leave your details don't feel you are obliged to do so, it's your choice.

What is a "Sound Bath"?

A sound bath is a meditative experience, It's designed to take you on a journey of self realization. You may feel an emotional release, You may see colours, animals, you may meet people or beings on your journey. It's your journey to be kept private or to be shared, again it's your choice.

Is there anything I should be aware of? (Part 1)

There are several contraindications myself as the practitioner should be aware of. If you are suffering from mental health issues, If you are in the first or 3rd trimester, if you have heart problems , if you have metal plates, if you are sensitive to sound or have hearing impairments.

Is there anything I should be aware of? (Part 2)

As long as you let me know then there is no reason why you can not attend. It's very good for mental health issues. Sound travels quicker in amniotic fluid so if you are pregnant, the foetus will benefit, Sound healing lowers the blood pressure, Metal plates may tingle

Is there anything I should be aware of? (Part 3)

People with sound sensitivity may want to position themselves to the rear of the event as the gong and drums may be quite loud, those with hearing impairments should position themselves closer to the front. I do drum in close proximity to your head and upper torso, all will be explained on arrival.

Have you had any success with any other issues? and what were the effects?

I have had people with ADHD say that if calms the mind, What has been said by nearly everyone who has attended an event in the past is that they always get a good night sleep.
