Sound Design in Ableton Live with composer Elena Hidalgo

Discover how to shape sound and create your own effects using the widely used software package Ableton Live.
In this workshop, you will learn how to create your own distinctive effects, timbres and sound textures with Ableton Live, drawing on theories from the disciplines of semiotics and psychology.
The session is divided into two sections:
1. Processing and sound effects creation techniques.
2. Mixing and mastering techniques.
You don’t need to have used Ableton Live software before to take part.

Elena Hidalgo is a pianist, sound designer, composer, producer and educator.
She currently teaches at the Advanced School of Image and Sound, Miguel de Cervantes European University (UEMC) in Valladolid, Spain, and is Visiting Professor at European University of Madrid.
In 2010, she was a visiting researcher at the UCLA University of California in Los Angeles, USA; and in 2013 a visiting scholar at the University of Huddersfield, where in 2014 she earned her PhD in electroacoustic music.
