About this event

This project will develop and empower a cohort of young people (aged 16–24) in Ashington

and surrounding areas to plan, manage, and deliver live music events. Through structured

training sessions and volunteering opportunities, young people will gain technical and

organisational skills in sound engineering, lighting, stage management, stewarding,

budgeting, and live performance.

Following "The Support Act", we now enter a focused six-week phase dedicated to event promotion and safety - "The Headliner".

Participants will develop key skills in:

  • Understanding audience demographics and targeting strategies
  • Creating promotional plans using both digital and traditional tools
  • Crafting engaging content and managing social media campaigns
  • Designing event branding and promotional materials
  • Learning the basics of crowd safety and risk assessment
  • Gaining awareness of stewarding roles and responsibilities
  • Preparing for potential stewarding certification

"The Headliner" includes a practical workshop on effective social media use and content creation for event promotion, equipping participants with a hands-on digital toolkit to support the second live event.
