About this event
Sound Sparks from ABRSM offers a magical introduction to music for 0-4 year olds and their families. Through live performance, hands-on instrument play and multisensory exploration, each session will spark musical curiosity and enjoyment.
Co-created by early-years experts and musicians, each session blends playful learning with a rich mix of global musical styles. As a first step on a musical journey, Sound Sparks is the first step in your child's journey to a lifelong love of music.

Each session lasts one hour. This includes a welcome, free play and live music at the beginning and end, and other carefully tailored activities.
Yes. You can choose which sessions you’d like to come to. You don’t need to come to all of them.
Children from 0 to 4 can attend. Some sessions are more appropriate for children at particular developmental stages. Please see the age level suggested, from babies through to pre-schoolers.
Yes, but they won’t be able to take part in the session itself.
Absolutely! Sound Sparks sessions are a safe and nurturing environment for you and your child, where the needs of you and your child come first.
Totally fine. We want babies and children to feel comfortable and safe, sometimes that means that they'll fall asleep. They’ll continue to absorb the experience around them!
Our practitioners are experts in early years music, as well as being skilled musicians.
Absolutely not! Children are free to explore and move as they need to throughout the sessions.
The sessions have been co-created with children, adults, practitioners, musicians and researchers, and we’re providing them in partnership with award-winning community organisations. They include live music delivered by diverse musicians with community-setting training.
Yes, All Sound Sparks sessions are delivered by expert practitioners who are also experienced musicians. At some sessions, an additional musician will also be present.
