Sound System Culture presents
Let's Play Vinyl
@ Rough Trade Nottingham
Sunday 23 August, 2–10pm
Heritage HiFi is a custom-designed sound system specially built for the Sound System Culture project and this October it's travelling to Nottingham during Black History Month organised by The University of Nottingham.
The sound system provides an opportunity for visitors to play their selection of reggae vinyl on Heritage HiFi. So dig out your old 45 vinyl records and join us!
Between 3–3.30pm there is an introduction by Vincent Wilson, Associate Professor at The University of Nottingham, followed by a short talk by Mandeep Samra, Michael Moore aka Bones (Jah Lion sound system) and Marshall (Zion InnaVision sound system) on Sound System Culture, a heritage project which documented Huddersfield's reggae sound system history.
The event concludes with a live roots reggae DJ set by selectors Bones and Marshall so be sure not to miss it!
This is a free event held in the bar upstairs at Rough Trade Nottingham.
