Event description
A concert featuring exciting music from stage and screen, popular classics and famous military pieces.

About this Event

On the 76th anniversary of D Day, the highly acclaimed Huddersfield Wind Band will be landing at St James’s Church in Wollaston, Stourbridge for an evening of Symphonic Sound together with their guests for the evening, the National Flute Orchestra. This follows on from a successful 2018 concert when the Flute Orchestra travelled north for an evening of music with the Huddersfield Wind Band under the baton of their Musical Director John Turnbull.

The concert will feature a varied and exciting programme including the world premiere of the 'Huddersfield Overture', which the wind band commissioned from Tony Bridgewater, Musical Director of The National Flute Orchestra.

The evening promises to be an 'explosive' event including famous military music such as the 'Dambusters March' and '633 Squadron', culminating in a massed performance by both ensembles.

Proceeds from the concert will go to the Mary Stevens Hospice.
