Gary Fawle facilitates this weekly active listening session exploring listening as a way to find calm and focus, experience the moment, and find a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world through sound.
Using a special surround sound system the studio is transformed into a space where we can enjoy the beauty of soundscapes, while honing our listening skills and focus. We’ll explore far-away places and the sound worlds of our everyday; tuning into the natural world and our current season, urban and social environments, as well as the wonders of musical composition, familiar sounds, strange sounds and the sounds of silence.
This active listening approach is designed for everyone, with no experience of meditation necessary; it can be experienced as individual sessions or as an on-going mindful listening practice. Booking ASAP is recommended, as numbers are limited. Bring warm clothes as we will mostly be listening with focus but also with stillness. There will be some simple movement midway through the session.
