Event Details

Welcome to the 11th Symphony Legal Conference which has a very different feel to previous years and will be the source of knowledge that you will need. The pace of change in the legal profession has gathered speed over the last year with firms reviewing structures and numerous firms looking at stock market flotations. It is more important than ever that we learn new skills from outside the profession that help us to run our practices as businesses.

It will be an action-packed two-day event at the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel including a session from a very different communication skills expert Jeremy Nicholas, also experiental learning from PCA Law and theGrogroup (with their Ready4Business financial simulation board game).

Then after a full day of learning, the fun will begin with our Annual Awards Dinner; a chance to relax, let your hair down and network with colleagues. Last year's dinner was a night to remember and we aim to make this year's equally as memorable. And then for those who still want more, we will reconvene the next day for further learning and depart before lunch.

Thursday Daytime

How to structure your message for maximum impact

Jeremy Nicholas - Presenter

Every year people waste millions on presentation skills classes, when it’s their message that’s the problem. A BBC veteran with 27 years on-air will show you the 7 top structures he advocates for getting your point across

Are your law firm staff ready for change?

Doron Davidson, Alicia Sutton & Vanessa Coffey - PCA Law

This session by PCA Law will utilise their experiential training and coaching methodology which has been developed specifically for lawyers and business service professionals. The aim is to maximise their concept of change and their personal communication skills with clients and colleagues, so that they can translate their legal technical excellence into personal and commercial growth day

Law Firm Spotlight

The chance to hear how progressive firms are adapting to the changes in the legal landscape

Sponsors Spotlight

The conference only works because of our sponsors and this is your opportunity to meet them and learn how they can benefit your practice

Ready4Business Simulation Game

Paul Richmond, Kate Hennig & Simon Dawkins - theGrogroup

How much better would your firm’s financial performance become if everyone fully understood the impact of their business decisions and how they affected the bottom line?

The 5% fee discount, that half hour spent giving free advice, the overdue invoice left un-chased, and the constant failure to record and bill hours accurately – they all add up!

This simulation game has proven to be highly successful in educating people of all levels in a professional services firm on how the impact of their seemingly small decisions can make a huge difference to overall financial performance

7 Steps of “Insight”

Graham Hall - The Insight Edge

‘Insight’. A buzzword? A game-changer? Driver of action that better connect law firms with their customers & raises their brand above the competition. “Insight’. Easy to say, harder to do. How do you capture powerful ideas and apply them to your firm?

Viv Williams and Andrew Roberts - Symphony Legal
