Reaching a wider audience

This year's meetings will focus on reaching a wider audience as well as an opportunity to discuss partnership work across the South Downs National Park. We encourage you to invite colleagues from your marketing and communication teams to the final part of the session (Growing your visitor numbers).

09:45 What's hot and what's not? 60 second updates from each provider

10:00 The South Downs National Park Partnership Management Plan 2019-2024. Your chance to contribute projects, ideas and opportunities.

10:40 EUROPARC Youth Manifesto. A discussion on engaging young people in rural communities and protected areas.

10:50 National Parks UK. What are they doing for outdoor education? An update from SDNPA on DEFRA's 8 Point Plan for National Parks and the 25 Year Environment Plan.

11:00 Tea, coffee, cake and networking

11:15 Outreach, families and health and wellbeing. Using the John Muir Award as a vehicle to engage disadvantaged families in communities around the park. How could your sites be involved with and support this initiative?

11:30 Growing your visitor numbers. Presentation from Sandra Grant, Sustainable Tourisn Consultant for the SDNPA. A range of projects and intiatives to support you to increase visitor numbers, domestic and international.

The Network is coordinated by the South Downs National Park Authority and its purpose is to:

  • Share ideas and best practice
  • Connect people to build strong partnerships and create bespoke learning packages
  • Support personal development

Any education centres, sites or individuals delivering outdoor education or learning outside the classroom across the South Downs National Park and surrounding areas are welcome to attend these network meetings.
