South Eastern Counties Hub Preparation Course for the IStructE Exam

IStructE Membership Examination online Preparation Course (starting on Thursday, 2nd October 2025 and running for 11 evenings)

The South Eastern Counties Regional Hub is delighted to confirm that it will be running an evening course this spring starting on Thursday 2nd October 2025 and running for 11 evenings.

Sessions will run from 17:45 to 19:15 and will help you prepare for all sections of the examination. Sessions will include homework in the form of weekly samples of Part 1A of the examination. Solutions will be discussed at the start of each session.

The course will be run online via Microsoft Teams.

While many parts of the course apply to all exam questions, the course will focus on building type structures. It will not specifically cover bridges or unusual structures like silos, seismic or off-shore structures.

The cost of the course will be £150 (One-off payment for all 11 sessions), and numbers will be limited to 35 places.

• Thursday 16th October: Part 1A - concepts
• Thursday 23rd October: Stability
• Thursday 30th October: Concrete
• Thursday 6th November: Timber & Masonry
• Thursday 13th November: Letter, method statements, and carbon cost
• Thursday 20th November: November: Steel
• Thursday 27th November: Foundation & substructure
• Thursday 4th December: Drawings and details
• Thursday 11th December: Sample paper review in groups
