Event description

Description

Following the success of last year's event, NEXUS Teaching School allience warmly invites all South Glos Governors to our 'Governormeet' event - an evening of free CPD and networking.

The event is the CPD equivalent of 'speed dating' with a short, snappy keynote by a regional expert, followed by 4-5 'micro-seminars' (7 minute presentations by governors on things that have had impact in their schools). There will also be a few cakes and refreshments and the opportunity to meet other governors from around the county.

The keynote for this event is Maggie Cook who is a trainer for Reconstruct, the company who train OFSTED and HMI on Safeguarding practice. Maggie will be sharing with us the essential elements of safeguarding which all governors should be monitoring.

In addition to this, there will be micro-seminars on:

  • Understanding the new OFSTED Inspection Summary Dashboard - led by a lead OFSTED Inspector
  • Effective Monitoring.
  • The strategic role of governors.
  • Questions governors should be able to answer (from a school with recent inspection experience).

Tickets are limited to 60 deligates so please let us know if you book a free ticket but can no longer attend as there is likely to be a waiting list.
