Applications are now open for Round 1 of the (Visual Artist & Craft Maker Awards) VACMA Scheme 2019-20

If you are considering applying, and want to know more about the scheme and how to improve your application, this event is ideal for you.

Creative Scotland is coming to the Scottish Borders as part of their VACMA roadshow offering advice on how to improve your application to the VACMA scheme. These informal information sessions are designed for visual artists and craft practitioners interested in finding out more about VACMA, a national funding programme of small grants to support visual artists and craft makers in their creative and professional development.

We are pleased to host a VACMA advice session with
Stephen Palmer, Creative Scotland who will be available to answer any questions you have relating to the scheme. There will be a short presentation on the scheme from Stephen Palmer from Creative Scotland, followed by 1:1 advice sessions which are pre-bookable. Mary Morrison, CABN, will also be on hand to advise and support applicants.

This is a free event but booking is essential. Tea and coffee will be available, please advise of any allergies and dietary requirements. Individual advice sessions will be allocated on a first come first served basis. After booking you will be contacted by CABN to confirm and allocate your advice session time slot.

More info about VACMA:

The Visual Artist and Craft Makers Awards (VACMA) are a programme of small grants schemes with a range of local authorities and art agencies across Scotland to support visual artists and craft makers in their creative and professional development.

Established by Creative Scotland, these partnerships give support at a local level and work with local panels to offer funds to support practitioners at all stages of their career who have demonstrated a commitment to their work and in developing their practice through new work, new skills or new opportunities.

Dumfries and Galloway Council, Live Borders, DG Unlimited and Upland in partnership with Creative Scotland are running a combined Visual Artist and Craft Maker Awards Scheme 201
9-2020. The scheme is for individual artists and makers living and working in the Scottish Borders or Dumfries and Galloway. Artists and makers are eligible to apply for awards towards the cost of developing their creative practice. Awards of between £500 and £1,500 are available.

The
Round 1 deadline is 8 October 2019.
