South Scotland Autumn Evening Event-SFWI

This is the first event in our Autumn 2025 series of SFWI evening meetings. The South Scotland event is taking place on 9th October at the Buccleuch Centre.

Doors will open at 17:00 with food and refreshments and an opportunity to network until 18:00. Presentations will commence at 18:00 sharp with an approximate finish time of 20:00.

Speakers:

• Richard Whittet, Head of Tree Breeding at Forest Research: Overview and update on latest tree breeding.
• David Bliss, CEO Lowther Estate: Changes at on the Lowther Estate, incorporating new woodlands and no fence collars for cattle.
• Hugh Morris, Head of Forestry at The Barony College: Modernisation of Forestry at The Barony now and looking to the future.
