SOUTH WEST Championships - National Series & Super League 2019 is kindly hosted by YExeter School and open to all.

CLOSING DATE: Sunday 5th May 2019, if space is available, we will accept late entries.

This event is part of the British Shooting Target Sprint National Series and Super League 2019.

National Series: 49.5mm Targets / 400m Run

Age/Gender Categories: (Categorised according to date of birth).

  • YOUTH Women (2004 – 2008) 15 & Under – Minimum 11yrs as of 31st Dec 2019
  • YOUTH Men (2004 – 2008) 15 & Under – Minimum 11yrs as of 31st Dec 2019
  • JUNIOR Women (1999 – 2003) 16 – 20yrs
  • JUNIOR Men (1999 – 2003) 16 – 20yrs
  • Women (1998 > ) 21yrs +
  • Men (1998 > ) 21yrs +
  • Women-46* (1973 >) 46+yrs
  • Men-46* (1973 >) 46+yrs

*W46 and M46 categories will be recognised on the results within the Women’s and Men’s categories respectfully only.


OPEN TO ALL, equipment available to borrow, no experience needed.

National Series Final: The top placed 5 available athletes in each age and gender category qualify for the National Series Final 2019, to be held on Sunday 22nd September at YOSC (Yate Outdoor Sports Complex, South Glos). More information on www.TargetSprint.com/events


Super League: 35mm Targets / 400m Run

  • JUNIOR Women (1999 – 2008) 11– 20yrs – Minimum 11yrs as of 31st Dec 2019
  • JUNIOR Men (1999 – 2008) 11– 20yrs - – Minimum 11yrs as of 31st Dec 2019
  • WOMEN (1998 > ) 21yrs +
  • MEN (1998 > ) 21yrs +

NB: The following categories will be recognised in the results only.

YW: YOUTH Women (2004 – 2008) 15 & Under – Minimum 11yrs as of 31st Dec 2019

W46: WOMEN-46 (1973 >) 46+yrs

Super League races are run to ISSF standard and results from which will be entered onto the GB Ranking List for GB Team Selection consideration.

Super League Points: According to athletes category positioning, points will be allocated. (10 points for 1st Place, 9 points for 2nd Place and so on). Following the British Championships in September, where double points are available, the athletes who has accumulated the most points throughout the season per category will be crowned Super League Champion.


Day Format: National Series and Super League Races will be run separately. Results will be ranked according to athletes Heat Times and categorised into age/gender accordingly.

IMPORTANT: Athletes will require a TS Safety Certificate to complete. These can either be attained prior to the event or over the event weekend by contacting Keith Anderson swtsrec@btinternet.com

Equipment: All equipment can be provided by the organiser. If athletes bring their own Air Rifles, they must comply by the 2019 National Series Rules and/or current ISSF Rules. (See: www.TargetSprint.com)

Do I need Target Sprint experience?

No experience needed prior to the event, but advised.

Is there training available if on the day?

5mins training time will be allocated prior to each race. If time permits, further training will be available.

What is the minimum age?

11 years on 31st December 2019

Will I be contacted before the event?

Yes, the event organiser will contact you at least 7 days before the event and/or following the event closing date with your Heat Start Time and Event Timetable.

If I qualify for the National Final, do I have to compete at it?

No, but please notify the organiser at Events@BritishShooting.org.uk as soon as possible.

Do I need to bring anything to the event?

No. All equipment can be provided. After entering you will be added to the list of entrants, so no need to bring your event confirmation. Just wear suitable clothing and footwear for a running and shooting event.

What is your refund policy?

No refunds will be available.

Do I have to have experience of shooting?

No, but it's advised. Limited coaching will be available as part of the day.
