South Yorkshire Police is hosting a careers fair for members of the public, partners, staff and officers. This event is suitable for school aged pupils looking for career inspiration, together with their parents and carers, as well as those already in work considering a career change. Plus, find out how to become a volunteer, join the Police Cadets or become a Special Constable.

You can talk to serving police officers at the event and see demonstrations* from:

Drone pilots - showcasing the best in technology, used to trace missing people, track criminals on the run and identify drugs and ASB hotspots.

Dog squad - meet our highly trained police dogs Otto and Trevor, watch them in a decamp and detain display on our field, or in a search and retrieve demo inside.

Roads Policing Group - set up in the carpark with their high-performance vehicles, used for high pursuit chases.

Firearms - meet the highly trained team responding to the highest risk incidents in South Yorkshire.

Plus, detectives, neighbourhood policing team officers, response officers, the team working to catch online sex offenders and cyber crime specialist officers. * Please note demonstrations may change due to operational demand.

Civilian Careers

Police Community Support Officers work across South Yorkshire within every neighbourhood team. We recruit for this role yearly and offer an apprenticeship as an entry route.

Investigations Officers work on crime investigation throughout South Yorkshire they conduct and manage investigations submitting case files which ultimately lead to prosecutions.

Force Control Room Call and Dispatch Operators are the first point of contact for all types of emergency calls from the public and other agencies, including 999, 101, crime reports and intelligence via telephone and electronic media.

Police Cadets for ages 15 – 17years.

Special Constables, if you have 16 hours per month and a desire to serve the public and give back to your community this could be a role for you.
