The School of Mathematical Sciences is organising an outreach day specifically for enthusiastic Year 12 female students considering studying maths or a closely-related subject at university. During the event, the students will have a chance to work on an advanced mathematical problem in collaboration with current undergraduate and graduate students studying mathematics, computer science or engineering at the University of Southampton. They will hear about entry requirements and different types of math degrees offered by the University of Southampton. There will be presentations on career pathways from young professionals who have recently graduated from the University with degrees related to maths and engineering. Throughout the day, the students will work closely with female professors and current students from different backgrounds and get informed about academic and pastoral aspects of university life.

This enrichment day will be held on Highfield Campus in the Mathematical Science building (54) and building 56 between 10:00 and 15:00 (registration opens at 09:30). The event must be booked by teachers for their students.

Due to safeguarding we ask that there is a minimum of 1 teacher per 8 students and the accompanying teacher(s) are responsible for their students at all times. You must book to attend this event, bookings close at 1pm on Tuesday 15 April 2025.
