Multiple Dates
Southbank Centre portable gamelan creative arts workshop KS1/EYFS
Event Information
Description
This workshop is a blend of music and technology, and children will be introduced to the instruments and explore the range of sounds and music-making possible, not only with the instruments but also through games that will include movement, body percussion and voice. They will capture their performance using CLC iPads.
Thanks to our partnership with the Southbank Centre, these workshops would be a suitable platform for schools to follow with a workshop on the full Javanese Gamelan at the Southbank Centre.
Curriculum links:
Computing: use technology purposefully to create, organise, store, manipulate and retrieve digital content
Music: use voices expressively and creatively by singing songs and speaking chants and rhymes. Play tuned and untuned instruments musically. Listen with concentration and understanding a range of high-quality live and recorded music. Experiment with, create, select and combine sounds using the inter-related dimensions of music.
A small number of EYFS/KS1 workshops will be available (half-day), but demand for these projects is expected to be high. For further information, please email James Goddard - jgoddard@londonclc.org.uk
