Southwark Diocesan Servers' Festival 2017
Sat 21 January 2017, 12:30 – 17:00 GMT
The day begins at Southwark Cathedral on Saturday 21 January at 12.30 pm with the Choral Eucharist, at which The Rt Revd Christopher Chessun, Bishop of Southwark shall preside and Canon Colin Boswell will preach. The occasion offers an opportunity to give thanks for the privilege of serving God and church, to rededicate themselves to their ministry and to get to know others from across the diocese who exercise a similar ministry.
Clergy and Readers are very welcome to robe and process at the Choral Eucharist (alb / white stoles for clergy).
During the lunch break there will be a room available for those who have brought their own lunch, where drinks are provided. All attending are asked to bring their own food, or to buy lunch locally from one of the many outlets around the Cathedral. We are also hoping to have a choice of optional tours available from the Cathedral guides.
At 2.45 pm there is the opportunity for both older and younger servers to engage in separate sessions, and the Festival will end with Choral Evensong at 4.00pm.
