Are you ready to take on a challenge that could make a real difference? The Scouts of the World Award (SOWA) is an exciting opportunity for Network members (18-25) to develop skills, take action, create a lasting impact and complete one of Scouts’ top awards.

Join us for a SOWA Discovery Weekend at Clogwyn Scout Activity Centre in Bangor, North Wales, from 6th to 8th June. Across the weekend, you'll explore the award, develop essential skills, and start planning a project that supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

What to expect

Friday evening – Arrive when you can! We’ll kick things off with a warm welcome, fun icebreakers, and an introduction to the Scouts of the World Award, the SDGs, and why they matter.

Saturday – We will explore the core themes of Development, Environment, and Peace with some guest speakers. In the afternoon, you'll take part in practical skills sessions to help you run a successful project, including: project planning and management; problem-solving; decision-making; managing emotions; and conflict resolution.

Sunday – We will bring it all together by exploring some example projects, start developing your own project ideas, and leave with a plan to take the next steps towards your SOWA project.
