Description

Sowing Sustainability: UCL and Urban Food Systems

Documentary, panel discussion and reception

Please join us for the premiere of Sowing Sustainability: UCL and Urban Food Systems. This video from the Grand Challenge of Sustainable Cities looks at new ways of thinking about how we produce and consume food in our modern, urbanising world.

The video features the work of Robert Biel (Bartlett Development Planning Unit, UCL) who, as well as teaching political ecology and a Masters module on "Food and the City", is a practising food grower. He has written a very accessible and popular book "Sustainable Food Systems: The Role of the City", which is available from UCL Press. The book is available as a free pdf, and has been downloaded over 20,000 times

The video will be introduced by Rebecca Payne, the director and producer of the video, and followed by a discussion on urban food systems.
