Space to Make Sessions: 3D Printing & Laser Cutting
Due to popular demand we've added more Space to Make Sessions with laser cutting and 3D printing in January 2022.
About this event
Cut and engrave designs into a range of materials using our Glowforge laser cutter or build objects in the Creality 3D Printer.
This October, Colonnade House is hosting a range of informative and engaging sessions trying out digital tech such as laser cutters and 3D printers. All events are free of charge but booking is necessary.
LASERCUTTING
You may have a project ready to go, or you may want a tour of the basics to get an idea of what is possible, but in either case book a free two hour session and we will assist you to use the machine and show you what it can do.
If you don't know about the Glowforge Lasercutter, please take a look at their website and community pages to see some of the amazing things that have been made and find out more about the capabilities and limitations of these machines:

Please note: We will provide some basic materials for people who are new to Glowforge to use as test pieces but if you have a specific project you will need to provide your own materials. If so, you must ensure that they are laser compatible - if you would like more advice about this, please get in touch.
3D PRINTING
Whether it's your first time ever, or you have a project ready to print, we will guide you through. Last year our Creality Ender machine was used to print multi-part models, cookie cutters and miniature buildings amongst other things as part of the Space to Make project. You can import a design of your own, or build a model from scratch in the 3D Creality software. Find out more about the machine and what it can do:

Please note: as 3D printing takes time, we may have to limit the size of your item or print it after your session.
After booking your session please get in touch regarding your project ideas and what you would like to try out. For inspiration see work from our previous sessions here.
