WHAT'S INCLUDED:

The participation fee includes a copy of the book, Mexican street food, and a session co-ordinated by our experienced tutor, Luis. The book club is held by the school, Spanish Marks, and all proceeds are going to the children's charities, Shaftesbury Young People and Asociación Fatima.

The maximum number of participants is 10, so we recommend to book today as there is great demand!

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

We have a relaxed atmosphere, with most of the discussion in Spanish. It is an event for those who love literature and Spanish, and want to spend an evening discussing the chosen book, whilst enjoying light bites and a glass of wine. It is not a language lesson, but an informal discussion about the book and it's themes, allowing you to practice Spanish in a warm, friendly and culturally-rich setting!

Receive a copy of Como Agua Para Chocolate when you purchase a ticket, so you can read it in advance. Buy before 26th September, to receive free delivery of the book. Tickets bought after this date will need to collect the book from Hotel Strand Continental, 143 Strand, WC2R 1JA.

ABOUT COMO AGUA PARA CHOCOLATE AND LEVEL OF SPANISH:

Como Agua Para Chocolate is a popular novel about an impossible love and a protagonist who resorts to the culinary arts to express her emotions. Leading each chapter with a recipe, this magical story follows a girl named Tita, who longs for her lover, Pedro, but is forbidden to marry because of her family tradition's that she must instead look after her mother. Tita takes refuge in the kitchen and creates beautiful dishes, channelling her emotions and waiting for her tragic destiny to be fulfilled.

If you can understand around 80% of the below extract, we recommend you joining us for this session!:

FUTURE EVENTS:

The book club is held once a month, with a different book each month. We change the country, theme and style of literature, and always choose highly acclaimed books by great authors.

¡Esperamos verte pronto!
