Spanish Language Celebration Day (Teenagers / Adults )

About this Event

Spanish Language Day is observed annually on April 23. The event was established by the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) in 2010 to seeking “to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity as well as to promote equal use of all six of its official working languages throughout the organisation”.

Spanish Language Day pays tribute to the author Miguel De Cervantes Saavedra. His magnificent novel, Don Quixote, has been translated into more than 60 languages. Spanish Language Day honours the day of Cervantes death on April 23, 1616.

Around the world, there are over 400 million people who speak Spanish. It’s the second most spoken language in the world.

Hispanophile Spanish Language Celebration Day is held at all levels and it is a good way to get to know and to enjoy our Spanish Language Day. Come and express yourself in Spanish. Let´s celebrate the Spanish language and its contributions to other languages. Learn more about this celebration while you practice your Spanish.
