Spark Mentor Training – Session Two: Building Mentor Confidence Through Core Techniques

This practical session equips mentors with the tools and confidence to guide meaningful mentoring conversations.

You’ll learn and apply four key techniques — active listening, open-ended questioning, SMART goal setting, and storytelling — while exploring how to build trust and structure effective first meetings.

The session also reinforces essential principles around safeguarding and workplace behaviours, ensuring mentors feel fully prepared to support young people professionally and safely.
