FAQs & How it works

Speed interviewing logistics

Interviewing slots are bookable as you arrive on the day and there is likely to be a limit to the amount you can book. Each of our employers will have a numbered pitching station and you will get to choose who you want to see and when – a bit like what your parents/guardians had to do at parents evening in school. But it's a lot more fun obviously - there's a definite speed dating feel, you are sat across from the person you are pitching to and after eight minutes a siren will sound and you move on. The speed pitching part of the event lasts for two hours and there are 12 slots, each lasting just eight minutes.

Speed pitching content

You should develop and practice an elevator pitch. These typically last up to 60 seconds and if delivered at the start of each pitch it will help SPARK questions and natural conversation with the employers. Make sure you tailor part of your elevator pitch for each company you want to pitch to - this will impress them and show you have done your research. Research via Google an online Elevator Pitch Generator tool you can use.

CV

Bring multiple copies of your CV so you can give one to every employer you pitch to.

Dress code

Smart/business clothing is expected, don’t come in a prom suit but leave your hoodie at home. Dress for the job you want, not the job you have!
