Spark Webinar: Can we get to Net Zero?
Event Information
About this Event
In this lunch & learn session, we will discuss the different targets for getting to net zero (2038 for Greater Manchester and 2050 for the UK), what that means in practical terms and the role businesses have to play. We will offer tips for adapting behaviours, mitigating our impact and offsetting unavoidable emissions.
Phil used to make documentaries for Radio 4. Having escaped the BBC he set up a charity to enable community radio stations to tackle disadvantage. Between these two careers he cycled a tandem back home from Sydney raising awareness for rainforest conservation. He co-founded the Carbon Literacy Project out of a need to leave his children ‘a future not an apology’ and out of the conviction that if we don't mobilise most of the population to act on the climate crisis then an apology is all we'll have. The globally unique project enables universities, schools, employers and communities to train their people using an adaptable framework for climate crisis training that emphasises the relevance of the issue to the learners’ existing priorities. 16,000 people have been certified as Carbon Literate in 12 nations.
