Event description

Description

The built environment is constantly changing with buildings evolving into more than just physical spaces. Offices have become places of play, shops have become experiences and buildings are able to respond and adapt to our needs. The question is now, whether will of these changes whether we need to change our approach to space... should it be regarded as more of a service?

Join us for an evening of debate, drinks and networking with some of the industry's leading thinkers.

Jacob Loftus: General Projects

Jacob is CEO of General Projects, a new real estate developer wholly focused on design-led, tech-enabled, creative real estate aimed at tomorrow’s generation. Established in the summer of 2016, General Projects is developing over 200,000 sq ft of cutting edge creative office across London. Prior to founding the company, Jacob was Head of UK at Resolution Property where he pioneered some of London’s most forward thinking mixed-use developments including Alphabeta, Dept W, Kensal & Thomas More Square.

Antony Slumbers: Antonyslumbers.com & Estates Today

For 20+ years Antony has worked with commercial real estate companies to develop online software products and services. Acting as a ‘Business Translator’, he helps the real estate industry understand technology and the technology industry understand real estate. His view is that by and large these two industries do not understand each other very well, which leads to huge value and opportunities being left untapped. With perhaps unrivalled experience in both camps, his aim is to help correct this.

Josh Artus: The Centric Lab

Josh Artus is the Director of Real Estate & the Built Environment for The Centric Lab. A graduate in Fine Art Josh has since been connecting the creative classes to commercial property for over 10 years. As such accumulating an invaluable understanding of both faults and potential in the property market. In identifying that there were very few organisations giving empirical evidence relating the built environment to experience, culture and future economies, Josh co-founded The Centric Lab Ltd with a team of neuroscientists and architects. In partnership wit UCL they bring world class facilities, technologies and decades of research in neuroscience to the built environment industry.

Paul Gold: BDG Sparkes Porter

A Marketing & Japanese graduate, Paul is a proud former Chairman, current Treasurer of the West End Office Agents Societ as well as an equity partner and co-founder of BDG Sparkes Porter.

Starting his career with Braham Gold in 2005, Paul very quickly modernised the company, improved its presence in the market and then established BDG Sparkes Porter with his current partners in the face of the 2008 banking collapse. Paul is renowned in the industry for his tenacity, enthusiasm and drive, whilst always having his finger on the pulse of the market.
