OUR FACILITATOR: Jemima Hughes is a multislam winning, Birmingham-based performance poet who is known for her energy and compassion. Her work emphasises mental health awareness and covers taboo subjects such as sexual violence, mental illness and suicide. She has two collections out with Verve, and another on its way...

The Word Association bring writing workshops and opportunities in publishing and performance to underrepresented groups. Their passion is celebrating the stories of marginalised communities and making sure their voices get heard.

The Word Association publish anthologies of workshop participants’ work and distribute them for free at Pride events, literature festivals and throughout Worcestershire Libraries for National Poetry Day, National Coming Out Day and World Mental Health Day.
