Speaker Boutique: Funding business growth

Whether you are seeking funding to grow your existing business or fund the next stage of growth on a newer venture, there are a number of funding sources available.
Join us to hear three entrepreneurs openly share their stories about how they funded the next stage of growth for their business. They will discuss what the right funding route was for them to ensure they achieved their growth plans, sharing their own experiences, learnings and challenges with you.
If you are interested in hearing from entrepreneurs who have grown fully via organic means, those that have raised finance or those that have grown via acquisition, then this event is for you. Join us to hear members of The Supper Club share their experiences, warts and all.
Please arrive at 2.30pm for a 3pm start. Networking drinks will follow when the talk concludes 4.30pm.
Christopher Baker-Brian – Co-founder, BBOXX
BBOXX designs, manufactures, distributes and finances innovative solar systems to improve access to energy across Africa and the developing world. Since 2010, BBOXX has sold more than 70,000 solar kits and impacted over 350,000 lives in the developing world. The company employs over 200 people in five countries. Christopher will be talk about how they have funded such rapid growth via equity, debt and securitisation; having raised $15m in the last 30 months from mainly VC and PE investors.
Simon Campbell – Founder, The Sandpit
Simon has set up and run 6 businesses across 5 sectors based in Spain and the UK over the past 15 years. The Sandpit is business number sixth and is going strong! The Sandpit is a go-to-market business builder for tech start-up’s focused on B2B digital marketing. They ensure that the startups get the right support in all areas so that the tech founders can focus on perfecting their product.
Sean Ramsden – CEO Ramsden International
Ramsden International is a family business which has created an award-winning £45m company from scratch. They are wholesale exporters of British-branded food and drink formed out of the family’s independent retail interests. Sean will be sharing his insights having grown a company that had humble beginnings to its current global presence.
Stuart Veale – Managing partner, Beringea
Stuart has over 25 years’ experience working within the venture capital industry. He is a non-executive director for CognoLink, Coal, Chess Dynamics, Monica Vinader, ResponseTap, Senselogix and SwitchMyBusiness. Prior to joining Beringea, Stuart worked at 3i plc and was a Senior Director at Lloyds Development Capital, where he headed the Thames Valley office.
James Sore - Chief Investment Officer, Syndicate Room
James heads up the investment team at SyndicateRoom as Chief Investment Officer. His key responsibilities include deal attraction, selection and management, as well as growing and managing their rapidly expanding investor network.
Max Chmyshuk - Founder, Fleximize
Max is Founder and Managing Partner at the alternative business lender Fleximize. He previously worked within the banking industry focusing on helping companies of various sizes and industries raise funding and manage risks.
This is an informal event open only to business owners and senior directors to come and learn from our award winning, high growth Supper Club members. The content of these events will generally not be relevant for those in the start-up phase. After our speakers have shared their stories, we open the floor for questions from you, which makes for a really interactive event!
Delegates have been asked to provide mobile numbers as feedback forms will be text to you at the close of the event.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
If you are unable to attend you may be eligible to send a Senior Director in your place, please contact Victoria to discuss further.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, we will have you name on the list, so we know if you've booked or not.
What is the refund policy?
Cancellation or Transfer
We will offer 100% refund until the last day of the month prior to the event taking place (for example, we will offer a refund until 31 May for an event taking place in June). Once we are in the month of the event we do not offer refunds.
If you let us know that you can’t attend a Speaker Boutique, you may be able to send someone else in your place (at our discretion)
We do not allow tickets to be transferred to other events.
Failure to attend (no show)
If you don’t turn up to the event you will not receive a refund or be able to transfer your booking to another event
