Special Educational Needs and Disability and health: what it means for your practice
A workshop for health professionals
Hosted by your SEND Regional Network Facilitated by the Council for Disabled Children
Participants: Health professionals including school nurses, health visitors, therapists. It will be especially beneficial to new staff who have had little or no training on SEND reforms.
The session will cover:
- Intro to SEN
- Sections of EHC plans
- Duties on health and how they apply to frontline profs e.g. writing health advice for EHC plans
- The role of the DMO/DCO
- Importance at transition e.g. LD Annual Health check, continuing healthcare
- Importance of provision to meet needs and lead to outcomes (golden thread)
- Outcomes and person-centred advice
