Description

A special event celebrating 100 years of collecting and exhibiting contemporary art in Salford. The event will also launch a new exhibition of work by University of Salford BA Fine Art staff and students, made in response to work in Acquired: a century of collecting at Salford Museum and Art Gallery.

Acquired: a century of collecting showcases drawing, painting, sculpture, video and photographic works from the dynamic art collections of Salford Museum and Art Gallery and the University of Salford. Works on display include paintings by Vanessa Bell, Graham Sutherland and Mandy Payne; sculptures by Jacob Epstein and Willow Rowlands; prints and drawings by Albert Adams, Jai Redman and Rachel Goodyear, photography by Shezad Dawood and a video by Yang Yongliang.


Speeches at 17:20; led by City Mayor, Salford City Council, Paul Dennett and Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Salford, Professor Richard Stephenson.
