Event description

Description

Join Andrew Graham-Dixon, one of the leading art critics and presenters of arts television in the English-speaking world, for 'Caravaggio’s later years': a talk focussing on the turbulent life (and death) of the most extraordinary painter of his generation. From murder and attempted castration in Rome, to triumph in Naples, brilliance and disaster on the island of Malta among the battle-hardened Knights of St John, Caravaggio's life culminated in a brutal assault on the painter and his subsequent, tragic death at the young age of 39.

This ticket also includes free admission (normal price £20) on the day to the ‘Works on Paper Fair’, presenting early, modern and contemporary art on paper under one roof. Open 11am to 9pm at the Royal Geographical Society.
