Description

An evening of inspiring conversation and remarkable stories...

When we look at the challenges the world is facing at this time, both to people and the planet, it's not long before we feel a sense of overwhelm. With so many pressing and important issues, where do you even begin? Can I, as one person, really make a difference or will whatever I do merely be a 'drop in the ocean'?

Maureen Goodman from the Brahma Kumaris has spent the last 40 years observing first hand exactly what can happen when one person embodies the changes in the world they want to see. In this evening conversation with journalist Philippa Blackham she will be sharing stories of her journey with some of the most remarkable spiritual women of our era. With no resources other than the power of positive thought, these are stories that will demonstrate how with vision, passion and determination, the changes our hearts want to see are indeed possible...

About the speakers:

Maureen Goodman is Programme Director for the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University, UK. A major part of her work is with community groups developing the University’s outreach work in prisons, healthcare, education, women’s issues and inter-religious dialogue. She coordinates the activities of Brahma Kumaris youth groups worldwide, working with youth from around 50 countries (www.brahmakumaris.org/hope/youth/young-leaders). She is also the Brahma Kumaris representative at the United Nations, Vienna, and an Executive Circle and board member of the Spirit of Humanity Forum, a global forum for leaders and change makers that explores new forms of governance underpinned by care, respect, trust, dialogue and relationships (https://www.sohforum.org).

Philippa Blackham is a former Staff Reporter and Presenter for BBC Radio 4 and an Award-winning documentary maker. She is now working on various projects which are building towards a new story for humanity, one which begins with embodying the changes we want to see.
