Event description
Indulge yourself with a deeply relaxing gong bath at the stunning Foxlea Manor, taking place monthly.

About this event

Foxlea Manor is an early 20th Century Manor House in the middle of Burnham Beeches surrounded by six acres of beautiful grounds.

The light airy space of the main dining hall, with its remarkable vaulted ceiling, was consecrated by the Bishop of London in the early 1900’s, and will provide the setting for the gong baths.

Doors open at 6.30pm to start promptly at 7pm. Parking available on site.

As the effects can be powerful, this gong bath is not recommended in the first trimester of pregnancy or under the age of 13 years old. If you have a pacemaker please contact me beforehand.

The Power of the Gong

The gong has been used throughout history as a ceremonial and healing instrument. It is believed to have been around for up to 5000 years, since the beginning of the Bronze Age.

The vibration of the gong is a powerful method for reducing stress. The gong creates an ocean of sound that is profoundly relaxing; a state which activates the parasympathetic nervous system to balance the over amped, over taxed sympathetic nervous system.

Water has often been used as an analogy for the rippling effect of the gong’s vibrations, partly because our bodies are approximately 70 percent water and water serves to conduct sound waves. Like ripples created by a pebble skimmed across a lake, the gong’s sound gently reverberates over, around and through the entire body to calm, relax and soothe. The gong induces a holistic resonance in the body and a spontaneous meditative state in the mind, resulting in a sense of expanded awareness and wholeness, and an intense sense of letting go.

I will be playing up to five gongs on the night, along with other therapeutic instruments and look forward to sharing the Sound Space with you on the night.
