The Bright Young Things Film Club is proud to host a special screening of MONK WITH A CAMERA: The Life and Journey of Nicholas Vreeland.
This beautifully shot documentary, directed and produced by Guido Santi and Tina Mascara, follows Nicholas (Nicky) Vreeland, grandson of legendary Vogue editor Diana Vreeland and the son of a United States Ambassador, who walked away from a worldly life of privilege to pursue the Buddhist ideal. He moved to India, cutting his ties with society, photography, and his pleasure-filled world, to live in a monastery. There he would spend the next 14 years studying to become a monk. Years later, he is compelled to return to photography to help his community of monks rebuild a monastery.
" This is an original story that can appeal, not only to people interested in topical themes like religion and photography, but also to an audience who is passionate about stories of exceptional individuals who defy their times." Guido Santi, Tina Mascara and Vish Alluri, film producers.
