Specialist Leaders in Education Development Day
This event is for those that have been designated Specialist Leaders in Education (SLEs) through a Teaching School Alliance, or who are involved in the delivery of education consultancy or school-to-school support. Participants will explore a range of approaches for sustainably building leadership capacity in others; through mentoring-coaching, and through creating safe reflective spaces within training sessions.
In addition the event will provide a brief overview of recent research into leadership development, professional learning, and education export across varied national and international contexts. Case studies from SLE deployments will be shared, as will some possible systems and procedures for capturing and evaluating the impact of working with another school.
- To know some Mentoring-Coaching techniques to use in developmental dialogues with other school leaders.
- To understand some core principles around building leadership capacity sustainably, to support long-term school improvement and enhanced outcomes for pupils.
- To know a range of innovative approaches to school-to-school support, and how they have been evaluated.
- To understand some core principles and success criteria for effective training and facilitation.
This course is free to those who are SLEs for the Swiss Cottage teaching School Alliance, or those who are in the process of making an application to become one. For more details email firstname.lastname@example.org
