Specialist Tour - Spring migrants and resident birds at Walthamstow Wetland...
Sun 28 May 2017, 10:00 – 12:00 BST
Find out about the resident and migratory birds that make Walthamstow Wetlands their home.
Join us for a leisurely two hour guided walk of the southern side of the site led by local bird expert Pete Lambert. Pete has been birdwatching at Walthamstow Wetlands for over 30 years and also leads bird walks of the site for the London Natural History Society.
As the site is still in development, we regret no children are allowed on site at present and this event is for adults only. No dogs allowed except guide dogs and assistance dogs.
Please bring binoculars, if you have them, and wear footwear and clothing appropriate for the weather.
We will meet outside the Marine Engine House. The entrance to the reservoirs is on Ferry Lane, opposite the Ferry Boat Inn. There will be a tour guide at the entrance to direct people to the meeting point.
Due to the on-site building works there is no on-site parking for this event.
However, the site is well served by public transport. The entrance to Walthamstow reservoirs is only about 7 minutes' walk from the Tottenham Hale bus, train and tube terminus and about 10 minutes' walk from Blackhorse Road Station. The 123 and 230 buses also stop right outside the entrance at the Ferry Boat Inn bus stop.
