Specialist Tour - Walthamstow Wetlands Heritage Tour with Stephen Ayers, Su...
Sun 14 May 2017, 13:00 – 15:00 BST
Join us for a two hour guided walk of Walthamstow Reservoirs with Stephen Ayers and get an insight into the unique history of the site. Stephen is working with the curator Steven Swaby as researcher for the Walthamstow Wetlands permanent exhibition and interpretation. Stephen is also a Lead Community Engagement Volunteer for the Walthamstow Wetlands project.
As the site is still in development, we regret no children are allowed on site at present and this event is for adults only. No dogs allowed except guide dogs and assistance dogs.
Please wear footwear and clothing appropriate for the weather.
We will meet outside the Marine Engine House. The entrance to the reservoirs is on Ferry Lane, opposite the Ferry Boat Inn. There will be a tour guide at the entrance to direct people to the meeting point.
Due to the on-site building works there is no on-site parking for this event.
However, the site is well served by public transport. The entrance to Walthamstow reservoirs is only about 7 minutes' walk from the Tottenham Hale bus, train and tube terminus and about 10 minutes' walk from Blackhorse Road Station. The 123 and 230 buses also stop right outside the entrance at the Ferry Boat Inn bus stop.
