Will I need to bring anything with me?

We will provide all the materials that you will need to conduct a survey, no preparation is necessary.

What happens if it rains?

We usually go ahead whatever the weather, we would only reschedule in extreme circumstances. If it’s really bad we will make a judgement call the day before or on the day of the event.

Will there be a toilet?

Toilet facilities will not be available for this site.

We will have a quick recap on our previous discussion surrounding Butterflies and introduce our surveying approach and plan for the morning.

10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Survey

We will walk through Lees Brook Nature Reserve to conduct our Butterfly survey along a transect within suitable habitat areas.

12:30 PM - 1:00 PM

Survey Debrief

An open discussion and reflection on our survey findings.

What to expect: Put survey theory into practice and carry out a Butterfly Survey.

Survey and record species: Any butterflies found and identified during the survey, as well any other species, to be recorded and submitted.

Please note, this session is following up from a workshop hosted on the 19th/20th May to introduce Butterfly ecology and survey methodology.
