What to expect: Put survey theory into practice and carry out a Habitat Suitability Assessment and Water Vole Survey.
Learn how to carry out a Habitat Suitability Assessment and Water Vole Survey: Assess the suitability of habitat for water vole and survey the watercourse from the banks for evidence of water vole, including: burrows, latrines, footprints, runs in the vegetation, grazed ‘lawns’, feeding remains and actual sightings.
Survey and record species: Any records of water vole found during the survey, as well any other species identified, to be recorded and submitted.
Please note, this session is following up from a workshop hosted on the 1st of April to introduce Water Vole cology and survey methodology.
It is desirable that you would have attended this before conducting a survey. If you did not attend the workshop, please inform us and contact lizzie@cityoftrees.org.uk or jimena@cityoftrees.org.uk.
