Event description

Description

Spectral Traces is a multi-sensory exploration of cycles of ruination, the experience of ghost spaces, and the absent-presence of post-industry. The centerpiece of the event is the first UK screening of ‘A Place Where Ghosts Dwell’ (2017) an essay-film by Dr. Patrick Baxter ( Manchester School of Art ) that investigates ghost developments in post-Celtic Tiger Ireland, exploring the relationship between a marginalized place and its vacant spaces. The event also includes a talk and a small exhibit of images by Dr Christina Lee (Curtin University, Australia) who discusses both her recent research into Ghost Cities in Inner Mongolia, and the notion of affect and absent-presence in the context a disappeared mining town in Western Australia.
